Minors on Campus

The University of Georgia has implemented a Minors on Campus Policy for youth events. The University expects advisers and chaperones to provide supervision of youth on university property throughout the event. Chaperones should not leave youth unsupervised and should be able to account for them at all times. They must retain care, custody and control of their student groups.

Fall Conference 2025: On the Pulse

Nearly 800 students and teachers from dozens of schools across the state attended GSPA’s Fall Conference on Oct. 28 at the University of Georgia.

The conference featured more than 40 sessions covering a wide range of topics, such as student press freedoms, media literacy, behavioral and mental health coverage and many more.

Fall Conference 2024: Broadening Perspectives

Oct. 24, 2024 The theme “Broadening Perspectives” was conceptualized by GSPA Ambassadors Alex Taylor, Union Grove High School, and Camilla O'Connell, McIntosh High School. "As journalists, we must strive to get the whole story rather than just a single perspective,” said Taylor. “Seeing the world from other people’s vantage points may just be the solution to some of our problems."

For all this, we need ‘momentum’ to keep us moving forward,” he noted.
